Would you be interested in serving your community or know someone who would be willing to serve as a member of the HOA board? The nominating committee could use your help! We can't believe it has almost been a year! It is time for you to get involved and think about who you would like to nominate for the new up and coming board. A majority of the incumbents will be running again, but there will be vacancies to fill. The committee would like to have a slate of nominations for this year’s ballot on or before Sept 20 to be placed on the October ballot. The nominee must be a resident of Killearn Lakes. Please visit "LAKES VIEW"/COVENANTS, scroll to bottom of the page and you will find the nomination form.
“Being on a Board is not about status or prominence. Wanting to help others can be your motive, but the decision to serve on a board is about oversight and responsibility.”
“For those who take their jobs seriously, it can mean a lot of work for no pay.”
“If you don’t have the time, the motivation or the fortitude to give an organization the insight and commitment it requires, then deciding to run for the board may not be for you. But there are other ways to be involved through volunteering, fundraising or simply serving on a committee.”
For all those board members who serve or might consider serving on the board, this service carries fiduciary and legal obligations that cannot be neglected.
To quote the current board members- “It is not our money!!”
