Because the Killearn Lakes Homeowners’ Association is responsible for the maintenance of hundreds of acres of community “green space” and funding is limited, the following criteria, as established by your Board of Directors, will be used for processing requests from Association members for the removal of trees located on Association property.
Once a request is received by the Association:
1. Staff will make a site visit to assess the situation;
2. Photographic documentation will be taken;
3. When prioritizing the need for removal, the following assessment will be made:
Is the tree on Association Property?
Is the tree diseased and/or damaged?
Does the tree pose a threat to life and/or property?
Are funds available in the current budget?
If the answer to all four questions is in the affirmative, arrangements will be made to remove the tree(s). If the request meets all criteria, with the exception of funds availability, the request will be placed on a priority listing and will be removed as soon as funds become available.
If a tree has been determined to be damaged and/or diseased and is on Association property but is not determined to be a threat to life and/or property, the Association member has the option of making his/her own arrangements to have the tree(s) removed at his/her own expense.
